Mission:
The International Resource Group, (IRG), is a not-for-profit educational trade corporation based in Rochester, New York. The primary objectives of the IRG are to promote trade in and with foreign markets, to provide information and services relating to international business and to promote the interests, knowledge and skills of the members of the Association and those engaged in international trade in general. The IRG is positioned to be a resource for small to mid-sized companies and students who are or who want to be exporters, importers, technology providers, and/or service providers. The activities of the IRG include:
- Obtaining, collecting, and disseminating information concerning cultural barriers, language and translation, manufacturing, distribution, marketing, negotiations, affiliations, licensing, strategic alliances, joint ventures, government regulations and communications.
- Promoting the interests, knowledge and skills of the members of IRG and of those engaged in international trade generally.
- Working and collaborating with other trade and not-for-profit organizations having similar or related objectives.
The IRG hosts at least 10 luncheon meetings per year with speakers and presenters on topics of interest to the IRG, and at least one international seminar focusing on a specific country or topic. All members receive a reduced fee for these events, for example typically a $10 reduction for the luncheon meetings.
